Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2025

Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But we're architects, not data miners, so we've kept this straightforward. Here's how we handle your info when you're checking out our work or reaching out about a project.

When you contact us about a project or just browse our site, here's what we might collect:

  • Contact details - your name, email, phone number if you fill out our contact form or send us a message
  • Project information - details about your building plans, site location, budget range, timeline - basically what you share with us during consultations
  • Technical stuff - IP address, browser type, device info, how you navigate our site (pretty standard web analytics)
  • Communication records - emails, phone call notes, meeting summaries related to your project

We don't collect anything weird or unnecessary. If we need additional info for certification processes or permits, we'll ask you directly.

We're pretty focused on architecture, so your data gets used for practical stuff:

  • Project work - developing designs, preparing proposals, coordinating with consultants and contractors
  • Communication - responding to inquiries, scheduling site visits, sending project updates
  • Legal requirements - meeting building code documentation, permit applications, professional liability insurance
  • Improving our services - understanding what types of projects people are interested in, where our clients are located
  • Occasional updates - if you've worked with us, we might share relevant sustainability news or project showcases (you can opt out anytime)

We won't sell your info to third parties or spam you with marketing garbage. That's not our style.

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information:

  • Secure servers with SSL encryption for data transmission
  • Password-protected systems and restricted access to sensitive project files
  • Regular backups stored securely
  • Physical security measures at our Vancouver office - our project files aren't just lying around

That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but can't guarantee absolute security. If there's ever a breach affecting your data, we'll let you know promptly.

For active projects, we keep your info as long as legally required (usually around 7 years post-completion for architectural records). For general inquiries, we'll keep your contact details for about 2 years unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Sometimes we need to share project information with others - it's just how architecture works:

  • Project consultants - structural engineers, MEP specialists, sustainability consultants who're working on your building
  • Contractors & builders - when we move from design to construction
  • Municipal authorities - for permits, zoning approvals, building inspections
  • Green building certifiers - like CaGBC for LEED certification if that's part of your project
  • Legal or financial advisors - if needed for contracts or dispute resolution

Everyone we work with is bound by confidentiality agreements. We won't share your project details publicly without your explicit permission.

Yeah, we use cookies - the digital kind, not the chocolate chip ones unfortunately.

  • Essential cookies - needed for the site to function properly
  • Analytics cookies - help us understand which pages people visit, how long they stay, what they're interested in
  • Preference cookies - remember your settings if you customize anything

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features might not work as smoothly. We use Google Analytics to track general site usage - their privacy policy applies to that data.

We don't use intrusive tracking or retargeting ads. When you leave our site, we're not following you around the internet.

Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA), you've got several rights:

  • Access - you can ask to see what personal information we have about you
  • Correction - if something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it
  • Deletion - request that we delete your data (with some exceptions for legal requirements)
  • Opt-out - unsubscribe from any newsletters or updates we send
  • Portability - get a copy of your data in a usable format

To exercise any of these rights, just email us at info@mythralspire.info or call (604) 555-8742. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your privacy concerns, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Our site might link to other websites - manufacturer specs, sustainability resources, municipal building departments, that sort of thing. We're not responsible for their privacy practices.

When you click through to another site, their privacy policy applies. It's always worth checking what they do with your data, especially if you're providing personal information.

We might update this policy occasionally - new regulations, changes in how we operate, that kind of thing. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

For significant changes, we'll send a notification to clients with active projects. For general updates, we'll post a notice on our homepage for a couple weeks.

It's worth checking back here once in a while if you're curious about how we handle things.

If you've got questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your information, we're happy to chat.
